Olivier Lessard practices essentially in civil and commercial litigation with a specialty in priorities and hypothecs, and in real estate law, construction law, labor law and co-ownership law. He also represents on a regular basis private lenders and financial institutions in files touching the realisation of guaranties.
He has also developed throughout the years a considerable experience in extraordinary recourses including injunctions, seizures and safeguard measures.
Within the scope of his practice, he is called to work in numerous files of sale and acquisition of companies. He is known for his open mind approach and his interpersonal skills. He represents a varied clientele comprised of mainly small and medium size businesses. His main focus is to prove himself an essential business partner for his clients across Canada as well as those abroad, assist them in their various spheres of activity, and to maintain a lasting relationship of trust with them.
He also takes special interest in alternative ways of settling disputes such as mediation, arbitration, and interest-based negotiation. He completed at the Université de Sherbrooke his D.E.S.S. (Diplôme d’études supérieures specialisées) in prevention and dispute resolution in order to acquire added skills and resources to assist his clients more efficiently when involved in a dispute, and is accredited as a civil, commercial and labor law mediator in conformity with the requirements of the Québec Bar.
He regularly argues cases before all civil courts in Québec.
