Denis Godbout joined LJT Lawyers in 2013 after being a partner for several years in a well-established firm. He concentrates his practice in civil and commercial litigation in the fields of construction law and commercial real estate law.

He has taught real estate law and bankruptcy law at HEC Montréal. Over the 30 years of his career, he has been called on to work in nearly all fields of commercial litigation, including corporate law and shareholder disputes, condominium law, bankruptcy and insolvency and relationships between commercial landlords and tenants.

A graduate of civil law and common law from McGill University, his cases have led him to plead both in English and in French before all court proceedings, including the Supreme Court of Canada. His clientele includes entrepreneurs of all kinds working in varied fields of activity, and leading figures in the commercial real estate, construction and engineering worlds.

For many years he has chaired the board of directors of the syndicate of a prestigious heritage building condominium.
